I can't believe it's already October. Gosh, when I checked my last entry here, it was still dated Sept. 19. My goodness. It's been that long since I've posted an entry here. Let me take care of that, though. Right now. I guess, I have been very busy the last few weeks -- 16-hour duties and night duties at the Uri-Para (Urinalysis and Parasitology) department of the Lab last week, and this week, Day shifts at the Clinical Chemistry (also called Blood Chemistry) department.
Actually, today's my second day at the Clin. Chem department and I did several tests including FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar) Serum Creatinine, Electrolytes, TPAG (Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin) SGPT (Serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase) and Lipid Profile (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL/LDL). These are chemical tests done on the Serum (the liquid portion of clotted blood). Of course, before anything else, blood samples have to be drawn from the patient/s first (thru venipuncture) after which, the blood samples are allowed to clot, centrifuged, and then, the liquid portion (serum) is then separated from the blood cells.
In case you don't understand what I'm talking about, feel free to ask
Talk more to you guys, later....
